IPTV in Canada
IPTV for Canadian homes, coast to coast to coast
From a condo in Vancouver to a cottage on a lake in Ontario, Smartiflix brings live channels, sports and on-demand movies and series to Canadian households. Here is what is different when you watch from Canada.

Paying from Canada
What USD pricing means for you
Smartiflix prices are in US dollars for every customer. When you pay from Canada, your bank or card provider converts the amount to Canadian dollars on the day of payment, using its own exchange rate.
Some Canadian credit cards also add a foreign-transaction fee, often a small percentage of the amount. Cards marketed as “no foreign transaction fee” avoid it. Your statement shows the final CAD figure.
Because the exchange rate moves, the CAD cost of the same plan can be slightly different each time you renew. Longer plans fix the price for longer.
Work out your CAD cost
Plan price in USD × your bank’s USD-to-CAD rate + any card fee = what you pay.
- 1 month: $17 USD
- 12 months: $65 USD
- 24 months: $120 USD
Check today’s rate in your banking app for an exact figure.
Six time zones
Set the guide for your province
- Newfoundland (NT) — half an hour ahead of Atlantic
- Atlantic (AT) — Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI
- Eastern (ET) — Ontario, most of Quebec
- Central (CT) — Manitoba, Saskatchewan*
- Mountain (MT) — Alberta, parts of BC
- Pacific (PT) — most of British Columbia
*Most of Saskatchewan stays on Central Standard Time all year. Newfoundland’s half-hour offset is the one most player apps need setting by hand; choose your city in the device’s date and time settings.

Cottage country & rural homes
Watching beyond the city limits
Plenty of Canadians watch TV on fixed wireless, LTE or satellite internet. Smartiflix can work well on these too, with a few adjustments.
- Check your data allowance. Rural plans often have one. Lower the quality on secondary screens.
- Put the receiver near a window for fixed wireless and LTE home internet.
- Use a cable from router to TV; thick log or stone walls block Wi-Fi.
- Test at peak hours, when shared rural networks are busiest.
Bilingual households
English and French under one roof
Smartiflix support and this website are in English, but many Canadian homes watch in both languages. French-language channels sit in their own category in the guide.
Tell us which French-language channels matter most to your household and we will check what is currently available before you order.
Popular Canadian setups
- Fire TV Stick on the family-room TV for hockey and movies
- Smart TV app in the bedroom for the news
- A tablet for kids’ shows on long drives to the cottage, on Wi-Fi before you leave
