Your kind of home
Condo or house: what changes for streaming
| Downtown condo | House in the suburbs | |
|---|---|---|
| Main challenge | Concrete walls and many neighboring networks | Distance between router and TV across floors |
| Best fix | 5 GHz Wi-Fi or a short cable to the TV | A mesh Wi-Fi point or cable to the basement TV |
| Typical screens | One TV plus phones and a laptop | Family-room TV, basement TV, kids’ tablets |
| Plan we often suggest | 12 months | 12 or 24 months |

Game night
Get the network ready before puck drop
Live sports are where every streaming setup is tested. Ten minutes of preparation before a big game is worth it.
Restart the router in the afternoon
Not five minutes before the game, when it would take the stream down.
Pause the big downloads
Game consoles and computers love to update in the evening.
Put the main TV on a cable
Or at least on 5 GHz Wi-Fi, close to the router.
Favorite the channel in advance
So you are not scrolling the guide during the anthem.

IPTV in Toronto: common questions
Does Smartiflix work across the GTA?
Yes: Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Oakville, Pickering and anywhere else with a suitable internet connection.
My condo Wi-Fi is weak in the bedroom. What helps?
Concrete walls absorb Wi-Fi. A small mesh point, or watching in the bedroom on a tablet while the living-room TV uses a cable, usually solves it.
Will the CAD price change every time I renew?
The USD price stays the same unless we announce a change; the CAD amount can move slightly with the exchange rate. Longer plans lock in the USD price for longer.
