How to install Smartiflix on a Fire TV Stick
The Fire TV Stick is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to watch Smartiflix on any TV with an HDMI port. This guide covers the Fire TV Stick, Stick 4K, Stick 4K Max and Fire TV Cube.
Two ways to get the app
Appstore first, trusted download second
Option A · Easiest
From the Amazon Appstore
If the player app we recommend is listed in the Appstore, install it like any other app. It updates automatically and needs no extra settings.
- Home screen → Find → Search.
- Type the app name and select it.
- Choose Get or Download, then Open.
Option B · When it is not listed
With the Downloader app and a code from us
Some player apps are not in the Appstore. In that case we send you a download code for a source we trust, to use in the free Downloader app.
- Install “Downloader” from the Appstore.
- Settings → My Fire TV → About: select your device name seven times to show Developer Options.
- Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install unknown apps → turn on for Downloader only.
- Open Downloader, enter the code we sent you and install.
- Turn the setting back off afterwards if you like.
Safety first
Never install a file or code from a stranger, a forum or an unknown website. Only use the Appstore or a code sent to you from the official Smartiflix WhatsApp number shown on this site.

From plugged in to watching
Plug in and update
Use the supplied power adapter rather than the TV’s USB port. Settings → My Fire TV → About → Check for updates.
Install the player app
Option A or B above.
Sign in
Choose the login type that matches your activation message and enter the details. The Fire TV phone app gives you a keyboard.
Wait for the first load
Channels, movies, series and the guide download in a minute or two.
Pin it to the Home screen
Hold the Home button → Apps → highlight the player → Options (☰) → Move to front.

Fire TV Stick tips that stop buffering
Add an Ethernet adapter
An Ethernet adapter made for Fire TV plugs into the stick’s power port and gives it a wired connection. It is the best upgrade for live sports.
Free up storage
Settings → Applications → Manage installed applications: uninstall apps you do not use and clear the player app’s cache occasionally.
Restart weekly
Settings → My Fire TV → Restart. Fire TV Sticks rarely turn fully off on their own.
Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi
Settings → Network: pick your 5 GHz network if the router offers one.
Fire TV Stick questions
Which Fire TV Stick is best for Smartiflix?
Any current model works. The Fire TV Stick 4K or 4K Max has more memory and better Wi-Fi, which helps with live sports and large channel lists.
I cannot see Developer Options on my Fire TV Stick.
On newer Fire TV software it is hidden. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About and select your device name seven times; Developer Options then appears in the My Fire TV menu.
Is it safe to turn on “Install unknown apps”?
It is safe when you only allow it for the Downloader app and only enter a code we have given you. You can switch it off again after installing.
Can I use the same Smartiflix login on my phone too?
Yes, install the player app on the phone and sign in with the same details. How many screens can play at once depends on what you ordered.
